White Rocks - Tanunda, Barossa
11 Julius Street, Tanunda, Barossa Australia (Cottage)
This beautifully presented white sandstone and red brick Bungalow was built in 1935 and is located within walking distance of the main street of Tanunda.
The grand entrance to this home is impressive and leads you through the glass door entrance and hallway which is of grand proportions (which is to be expected in a home of this era). As you enter the front hallway the ornate dome and chandeliers are stunning and gives you a glimpse of what is still to come....
With three large bedrooms that flow from the main hallway, two with ornate fireplaces and original features including the window box seat in the master king size bedroom. The new bathroom has underfloor heating plus an additional toilet.
The home has been painted in neutral tones which accentuates the dark wooden features surrounding the windows, skirting boards and woodwork throughout the house.
The ornate features of the house continue into the lounge area which also flows through from the hallway to this light filled room with its large box seat under the main window. With a large slow combustion heater for keeping you warm during the winter months and the original stained glass doors and ornate fireplace this room reminds you of the grandeur of the home.
Located centrally within the house is the dining area with the fourth ornate fire place. A wine room flows through from the dining area and into the large cellar.
The kitchen has been newly renovated and has modern clean lines with everything that the discerning chef is looking for including the 900 wide oven with electric cook top and dishwasher. The window in the kitchen takes in views overlooking the rear garden. At the rear of the home is the sun-room which leads you out to the yard with lawns and trees.
Netflix and unlimited wifi internet access is provided
Your accommodation is only 300 metres to the famous fermentAsian Restaurant and the 1918 Bar and Grill. Z-Wine and Musque are at the end of the street.

You are spoiled for food options so we will give your our favourites. For top end we just love fermentAsian in Tanunda. A perfect fusion of Viet Nam and Barossa with an incredible wine list. For a casual lunch we suggest fleur Social in Nuriootpa – bagels can be gourmet! Or Table Café at Lyndoch. For a long lazy lunch you cannot go past the “Feed Me Like a Barossan” option at Harvest Kitchen – allow three hours and don’t expect to go out for dinner that night!
Wineries abound – here’s a quick selection. Yelland and Papps at Nuriootpa and Tscharke’s Place at Marananga both dare to be different. We love Hayes Family Wines (made by Andrew Seppelt) and Rolf Binder and David Franz (all in Stonewell area). For the BIG ones we reckon Yalumba is the best experience.
For night life check out Z-Wine in Tanunda for leather lounges, wine by the glass and live music. For beer, head to Greenock Creek Tavern for a beer made over the road. For Pizza head to Roaring 40’s in Angaston. For cheese check out Barossa Valley Cheese Co in Angaston
Turn off the main street of Tanunda (Murray Street) down Julius Street (opposite BankSA). Your accommodation is Number 11 on your right at the corner of William Street. Turn right into William Street and enter through the sliding driveway gate. Entrance to the house is via the front door.
